The Anchor Point Blog - cancer support stories, resources, strategies and encouragement from Warrior Bags

Welcome to The Anchor Point

Hi friend, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

The Anchor Point was created as a steady place for anyone walking through a hard season—especially those facing cancer, caring for someone they love, or healing from its impact. This is a space for practical help wrapped in gentle encouragement. Nothing overwhelming. Nothing complicated. Just small supports for the road you’re on.

A Simple Rhythm You Can Count On

New posts will land here on the first and third Thursdays of every month.

Two touchpoints, thoughtfully paced. Not one more thing to keep up with—just a gentle, reliable rhythm offering something useful, something grounding, and something that meets you where you are.

What You Can Expect

The Anchor Point is built around practical support for real life—tools and topics that matter when you’re moving through cancer or caring for someone who is. Topics like:

  • navigating medical appointments

  • managing scan anxiety

  • supporting mental and emotional health

  • tending to relationships during treatment

  • caring for your body with limited energy

  • offering support as a caregiver

  • finding a new sense of normal

Nothing here will ask more of you than you have to give. My hope is simply to offer steady help for whatever your today looks like.

A Note as We Begin

Cancer touches every corner of life—your routines, your emotions, your relationships, your identity. My prayer is that The Anchor Point becomes a quiet place where you can exhale, feel understood, and gather small tools that make the next step a little clearer.

Wherever you are in your journey, you are not alone.

Anchored Here

A small grounding practice for the first day of a new year.

  • Place both feet on the floor.
Let them remind you you’re supported.

  • Inhale for four. Hold for two. Exhale for six.
A steadying breath for your nervous system.

  • Notice one thing you can see, one you can hear, one you can feel.
A gentle way to return to the present moment.

One breath is a beginning. You don’t have to have the whole year figured out today.

In two weeks, we’ll talk about something many warriors quietly face: the pressure to “stay positive” when life feels anything but. We’ll explore a gentler, more honest way forward.

I’ll meet you back here in two weeks.

Anchored in Hope,

Lisa
